Lynn Zehr

After a 40-year career in respiratory care, Lynn decided it was time to rediscover her love of art that began at a very young age. She initially leapt into the world of artistic creation with her original penchant for incredibly detailed pencil drawings.

As a self-taught artist, she found that a single medium was not enough to satisfy her need to create; however, her passion for needle felting began completely by accident when she discovered an adorable soft sculpture on the internet site, Pinterest. Yet, she could not figure out how it was made. After a bit of research, she discovered the reason the whimsical sculpture had no seams: they were created using the process of needle felting which consists of stabbing wool into shapes with special barbed needles. Her love of the process grew rapidly from a tiny kit purchased that very day at a Hobby Lobby store to the current 30 large bins of wool and supplies in her studio. From her oversized bust of Abraham Lincoln to the tiny mice adored by many of her customers, Lynn believes almost anything can be created in wool.

Still, it turns out two mediums were not enough to completely satisfy her, so she also began designing and creating river tables, coastline tables, and charcuterie boards with her husband, Dan. As a retired custom cabinet and furniture maker, he was an ideal partner to create amazing functional art pieces from beautiful wood slabs and epoxy resin. Her art is displayed at Quayside Art Gallery in Pensacola, Florida.
