MARY BRESHIKE

Biography

Mary Breshike is an artist, wife, mother, grandmother, dental hygienist, art educator, diver. As an artist, she dabbles in pastels, encaustics, and most recently acrylics. Each medium has its own unique properties and brings a sense of adventure and joy. She finds pastels to be the most reliable in the resulting art. Encaustic and acrylic pours allow for delightful surprises. She loves to capture and create memories for her collectors.

Mary started painting in 1982, first in oils and then transitioned to soft pastels. She studied under master pastelist Marilyn Simpson in Pensacola, Florida, and has painted and exhibited all over the world. While living on Okinawa, she captured the beauty of the island, the ocean, tropical sunsets, landmarks, and the wonderful people.

In 2022, Mary returned to Florida where she is studying the beauty of the ocean and local wildlife. She is a new member of Quayside Art Gallery in Pensacola and looks forward to continuing the creation of new works of art.
