Wanda Azzario-Goldberg
Wanda’s work is based on her life experiences. When young, she ran away and joined the Circus. She wasn’t sure if she was running away or running towards the bright lights and shiny costumes, but for the next 35 years she was a happy, performing acrobat.
Before she was a performer, art was something that she loved and so she attended art school, studying at the Central St Martins College of Art in London. While on the road with the circus, she always had a sketch book at hand. While residing in Oahu, Hawaii, she and her partner lived on their boat, her inspiration then coming from Mother Nature’s awe-inspiring sunsets, sea-views and ocean life.
Wanda has been painting seriously for 6 years, five of them professionally. Her work is exhibited in Wy’s Gallery on Oahu’s North shore, in the Quayside Art Gallery in Pensacola, Florida and at the Artel Gallery also in Pensacola. She has had her work in the Sunshine gallery in Kaneohe, Hawaii and the Prosperous Pelican in Orange Beach, Florida, as well. As the featured artist at the Gulf Breeze Art Festival in 2019, one of her paintings was chosen as the official “Poster” image, and then auctioned for charity. She has also won the ‘Purchase Award’ at the Artel Gallery Cinco Banderas Collection, 2020, and the Award of Merit at the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation in 2021. Further recognitions was granted by inclusion in the Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival in Pensacola, and as “Best in show” at the ADSO Fort Walton Beach February March show. Additionally, her work is displayed at the Sea Glass Beach Cottage and Navarre’s Turtle’s Nest.
She recently moved to Florida to be close to her elderly parents and is now working on Floridian ocean views. She considers the wildlife and the beaches amazing! Using acrylic paints on canvas as the colors are more vibrant, she considers herself most definitely a “Colorist.”
